Requirements when beginning an expert network call

These are mandatory instructions for beginning a call.

Unless otherwise instructed, the following script must be read at the beginning of every expert network call. Please note that this should be read after any call-specific script related to compliance.

Pre-call Script (for client)

"Hi, this is [NAME], the translator for today’s call. I am here to facilitate the discussion on behalf of you, [CLIENT FIRST NAME].

As a headsup, I may go back and ask the expert to clarify things like figures, product or company names, and industry abbreviations. When I do this, I will give you a heads-up.

I'm also happy to dig deeper if you hear an unsatisfying answer. To invoke this, simply say "[NAME] can you try to get a more direct answer?"

I will now repeat these instructions in [FOREIGN LANGUAGE] and then we can begin."

Pre-call Script (for expert)

"Hi, this is [NAME], the translation for today’s call.

As a headsup, I may ask you to clarify things like figures, product or company names, and industry abbreviations. I have made a glossary of the names I expect to come up on this call, but I may still need your help.

In addition, our client prefers to hear your answers in roughly 1 minute increments. I may politely interrupt in order to translate your answer.

I've already said these instructions to the client, so I'm now going to let the client ask the first question"
