Interpretation Program Manager

Cadence Translate is seeking a program manager for our cloud-based interpretation services to be based in our downtown LA office.As the leader of our interpretation offering, you’ll be in charge of the P&L for our entire interpretation portfolio, including:

  • Pricing strategy;

  • New product development (e.g., sight translation);

  • Recruitment strategy;

  • Training & quality assessment program;

  • Management and moderation of our community (including, specifically, planning and executing offline meet-ups to build community engagement).

Through professional interpretation, translation, and transcription, we enable our clients to unlock better business insights at every stage of the investment cycle across the language barrier. Our full-time employee cohort represents over 10 nationalities, and our linguist community includes over 2,500 freelancers that speak 25+ languages based around the globe.Location: Los Angeles (downtown)Employment type: Contract-to-hireResponsibilities:

  • Review our portfolio of interpretation-based offerings and identify gaps in our target market

  • Develop a go-to-market strategy for addressing those gaps

  • Oversee our badge-based interpreter training program (“Trailhead”)

  • Build out a community management team to manage our Salesforce-based linguist community portal, which will include:

    • Collating and distributing relevant industry resources as prep materials;

    • Moderating forum interactions between members;

    • Ensuring linguists are onboarded in a timely fashion.

    • Handle logistical and service-based requests that the linguist community poses;

  • Communicate policy and product changes with the greater linguist community as they arise;

  • Act as the primary conduit between the linguist community and our developer/CS team to facilitate linguist feedback;

  • Coordinate offline meet-ups for our remote community, including designing and executing broader Cadence-funded initiatives or sponsored events;

  • Coordinate with marketing team to create external posts showcasing the linguist community to prospective candidates.

Ideal qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience managing a P&L for a services business, or 2-5 years experience as a vendor manager and/or product manager for an information services company;

  • Candidates with an MBA or product management background preferred;

  • Passion for inciting enthusiasm in professional teams;

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage many moving parts;

  • Professional and diplomatic communication skills (experience in client service a big plus);

  • A proactive and “tinker-and-teach” mindset;

  • Experience working with digital CRMs or community management tools, e.g. Salesforce, strongly preferred;

  • Based in Los Angeles, CA.
